สนร.กำหนดให้นักเรียนทุนรัฐบาลที่ยังคงได้รับเงินทุนหลังจากวันที่ 31 สิงหาคม 2553 หรือปี คศ.2010 เป็นต้นไปต้องทำประกันสุขภาพ
กับบริษัทประกันฯ ที่ สนร.จัดหาให้ในปีการศึกษา 2010/2011ยกเว้นนักเรียนทุนที่ศึกษา ณ สถานศึกษาที่บังคับให้นักศึกษาต้องทำประกัน
ของสถานศึกษาแต่เพียงสถานเดียวเท่านั้น (Mandate) หรือบังคับให้ทำประกันของสถานศึกษาแต่อาจพิจารณาให้การยกเว้นได้หากนักเรียน
มีประกันสุขภาพที่ครอบคลุมค่ารักษาพยาบาลสูงกว่าของสถานศึกษาได้ (Hard Waiver)(ตรวจสอบรายชื่อสถานศึกษาที่ประกาศบังคับให้
นักเรียนทำประกันผ่านสถานศึกษาได้ด้านล่าง)สำหรับข้าราชการลาศึกษา/นักเรียนทุนพิเศษอื่นๆ และ นทร. ที่ศึกษาโดยไม่ได้รับทุนรัฐบาล
แล้ว แต่ยังอยู่ในความดูแลของสำนักงาน ก.พ. รายใดที่สนใจทำประกันสุขภาพผ่าน สนร. ขอให้ติดต่อ สนร.เพื่อขอทำประกันสุขภาพให้

ทั้งนี้ สนร. เลือก Aetna Life Insurance Company เป็นผู้ให้บริการประกันสุขภาพของปีการศึกษา 2010-2011 (พ.ศ. 2553-2554)

Plan Name: Preferred Providers Network (PPO)

Maximum Benefits: up to $750,000 for accident and sickness, as well as Medical evacuation and Repatriation of Remains Benefits, all of which meet or exceed current J-1 visa requirements

Covered Medical Expenses: 100% usual and customary in-network (including Student Health Center) and 80% out-of-network (with US$250 deductible)

Outpatient Prescription Medications, with a copay of $10 for generic drugs and $20 for brand name drugs.

For 2010-2011 policy year, all blood tests related to the physical exam will be covered during an annual physical exam. There is no pre-existing condition. 

Dental Plan: Aetna provides 2 options Dental Plan on the voluntarily basis ; Aetna Dental® PPO or Vital Savings^SM* (scholar is responsible for Dental premium payment to AETNA directly).  For detail on Dental coverage, please see 2010/2011 Insurance Brochure for Thai Scholars and Dependents (Master Version) (Page 24-25)
